Hi all,
I'm at the point in my cabinet conversion project where I need to layout the control panel and I'm having a difficult time deciding on the proper configuration. I'd like to have one panel that can play "most" of the games with good accuracy.

I currently have about 18 buttons, 3 Happ competition microswitch joysticks, 1 old 4-way leafswitch joystick, 2 NOS 8-way leafswitch joysticks, and a spinner that I'm in the process of building.

I would like to be able to play simultaneous 2-player 8-way joystick games as well as the old single player games that require a 4-way stick like PacMan, Frogger, etc.

My question is...if I use the 8-way leafswitch sticks will they work OK for PacMan, Frogger etc or will I have problems with the diagonal positions on those games?

I'm considering putting 2 8-way sticks on either side of the panel plus the 4-way in the middle ( 3 sticks total ) but am concerned about the panel being to crowded. If I could omit the 4-way stick the panel would be much less cluttered but I don't want gameplay to suffer if that would be an issue when using 8-way sticks for 4-way games. ????

-Thanks in advance...any advice is GREATLY appreciated!
