Im my never humble opinion, I have tried 6 different video cards with TV out, from the ALL IN Blunder, EXCUSE me All in WONDER, he he. to the 3dfx 3500 TV, which by the way has the WORST tv out I have ever seen, and even the TV VIEW hardware coverter from Haupenhage for TV out, they all are just plain.....PLAIN! They all looked wrong, just...wrong. A real pc monitor is too dim and sharp, TV out is blurry and colors crawl, etc. A 21" monitor costs about 400 for a good one, a 21" TV costs about $200, plus TV out card for around $150.00 for a great one.
My solution? If you are dead serious about achieving the arcade experience, you NEED a Wells Gardner U3100 Arcade Monitor with VGA input. It is exactly what everyone should be looking for, and stop this nonsense about TV out and Computer monitors, go for the REAL deal. This monitor is in the ArcadePC from Hanaho, the makers of the Hotrod Joystick. You just cant lose. vector games look kinda crumby on it, but they look awesome on a PC monitor, so play those on PC, and build a vector only cabinet some day,, thats my plan! My U3100 comes UPS tomorrow!
Good Viewing!
