I have read every thread concerning this problem but I still have not resolved it, actually, I did get it running at about 2am last night but then screwed it up again.

I am running a PIII 500 with 64mb of RAM in win98 dos (loading straight to dos). Everytime I run metal slug I get the following red screen on the AOS page.

"Unable to allocate 335542 bytes of memory, initialization stopped"

I have tried disabling emm386.exe but that causes system faults. Here is my setup. I am using r5 of CWSDPMI:

CONFIG.SYS

DOS=HIGH,UMB,AUTO
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOVCPI NOEMS
BUFFERS=10,0
FILES=80
LASTDRIVE=I
SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS;c:\windows\command;C:\UTILS;C:\MAME;C:\ARCADEOS;C:\SB16;C:\SDD
SET TEMP=C:\TEMP
SET TMP=C:\TEMP

AUTOEXEC.BAT

@echo off
PROMPT $p$g
SET SOUND=C:\SB16
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6
C:\SB16\DIAGNOSE /S
C:\sb16\MIXERSET /P /Q
LH C:\ARCADEOS\CWSDPMI -P -S-
LH C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV 2048 16
LH C:\sdd\univbe.exe
cd c:\arcadeos
C:\ARCADEOS\ARCADEOS.EXE

Thanks for your kind help.
john
