Ouch...I would do some homework and look up the company's web sight (if they have one), and check their policies on that kind of stuff. A lot of times, freight companies put a set value on each shipment to cover loss or damage. I know UPS is $100.00 unless you put a higher declared value on it (and of course you pay more). It's good that you took pictures, those are often very valuable.
