The limit high. Something like 128 or 256. The problem may be some modelines with the same ID number.
For example:
modeline10 = test1 ...
modeline10 = test2 ...
modeline11 = test3 ...
In this case the modeline test2 isn't used beacuse the ID 10 is already present.
When you insert manually one modeline you must eventually change the ID if it's already present.
