If running windows is important i would buy a good svga monitor.
I use a vertical mounted iiyama monitor. What I had not anticipated before I finished the cab is how great this setup is for browsing the internet. We use it a lot for that now...I am typing this on it right now...
If you like the blurry feel of an old arcade monitor you can try advance mame's filter mode. They look pretty authentic that way. Espescially on a rotated monitor.
If this is not authentic enough for you I would suggest the wg monitor because you can run windows on it. Not for me I can not look at windows with low refreshrates...

: I think I am ready to start arcade cab #2 but I need help choosing which type monitor to go with. I would really like to run Windows (in vertical mode) so I am probably going with a SVGA monitor (or possibly a WG3100). I know it's been asked a hundred times but can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks...
