I've never messed with a joypad hack but I'm guessing if a game controller ic was supposed to get that hot you would feel it in the gamepad... so I'm betting here is something grounded that shouldn't be... at any rate if you are plugging this controller into your sound card then you are in danger of blowing out your sound card... so don't plug it back in! Trust me, I know, I've done it twice and taken out a mb with a bad keyboard hack.. gamepads are cheap.. just buy another and try again.. and read this faq..maybe there is something you missed... gamepads are probably the cheapest computer part out there... well maybe keyboards and mice are cheaper but anyway..

Hope this helped,

Jim K.

: I made a stick with a Gravis gamepad pro hack, and it worked fine. But I had to reconnect some wires to the board after moving it from a stand alone sick to a cabinet, and now the up/left direction won't work.. left works, up works, and every other diagonal direction works. Funny thing is, I never touched the wires on any direction key. Everything looks okay on the board (though I doubt if I could identify any subtle problems). Does anyone know what could be wrong?

: Thanks
