I had tried that already, as well. I'll have to take a closer look at the pinouts- maybe there is another connector that I'm missing. As far as I'm aware at this point, my pinout is
1-R
2-G
3-B
4-Sync
5-Ground
My monitor is a 19" Toei manufactured in '81. If ANYBODY has one of these, I'd like to hear it- It would make me feel better if there's someone out there who is also looking for Cap Kits, Manuals, Schematics, etc. for this thing. Unfortunately, it looks like Toei quit making/supporting monitors quite some time ago, and their website is entirely Japanese (and I ain't).

: It might need the sync polarity swapped. Most arcade boards output a negative sync. Most arcade monitors accept both postive and negative syncs. On almost all of my monitors (about 20) there's an extra set of pins, so the pinouts look something like this:
: 1 - Red
: 2 - Green
: 3 - Blue
: 4 - Ground
: 5 - -H Sync
: 6 - -V Sync
: 7 - Ground
: 8 - +H Sync
: 9 - +V Sync
: Does yours look anything like that? If not, I think that TSR will let you swap the polarity of the VGA output from your computer. I forget the switch, but it's listed in the /? screen.

When I'm at a dos prompt, the picture is stable, and I can tell where the cursor is (because it's always a single dash on a horizontal line). Everything else horizontally is stable, just not 'lined up' right, apparently.

: : : : I've just been trying to get my cabinet monitor to work, and I'm having some issues. Its a Toei AD-20 (I haven't seen anyone else with one of these yet- lucky me...). The input wires/connector on the monitor was unlabeled, so I assumed the 5 lines to be RGB Vert and Horiz. No go. serious horizontal imbalance (actually vertical, but I think the monitor used to be vert and they never changed the labels on the pots). Since I wasn't sure which was vert and which was horizontal at the monitor end, I tried each combination, as well as assuming that they were actually vert/horiz sync combo and ground. Nothing. Not knowing if I had a monitor or cabling issue, I 'mcgyvered' my cable to an old RGB monitor I had kicking around, and had the same problem. At this point I began to suspect an incompatable refresh rate or resolution coming from the video card (I was using Arcadeos with arcade display (NTSC) mode turned on), so I loaded up that little TSR VGATV driver. Worked fine on the old RGB monitor, but not on the Arcade monitor.
