I have one that I got at Best Buy for $60 after rebate. I'm very impressed with the performance, tweaking options, and S-video out, so I'm curious, why avoid them? They're cheap, and work great.
I realize that the 7200 chipset may not be officially supported by ATI anymore, but the drivers are pretty mature. And MAME certainly doesn't need anything more powerful - IMHO, the 8500 is overkill. As long as the card can hardware stretch/triple buffer without a performance hit, I would think it would work fine for all MAME purposes....
: The 7200 models should be avoided, consider a 7500 model, or a radeon ve if your buget is tight. You'll get a good deal at newegg.com either way.
