Thanks for the great info u rebelscum. I'll give it a try. The link I was trying to download Mame32 analog+ was broken last night, then I got too tired to search for another. I wasn't sure if Win98 required the mouse to be USB or not, but I was going to give it a try anyway. I like the Mame32 interface, and haven't spent enough time testing front ends for Mame DOS to know if I like any of them. Your tip may be exactly what I need.
: My thoughts:
: If you are going to use a mame32 version:
: Doesn't really mater how you hook up your devices except make sure one wheel is on the X axis and the other on the Y axis. Download Mame32:Analog+ and setup the wheel games (Indy heat, SuperSprint, etc) with TAB --> mouse axis (added feature). Set one player X axis to use "sysmouse X axis", the other player X axis to use "sysmouse Y axis".
: However you set it up, windows will assign them all to the same mouse anyway, which is okay for you since you won't be using them together (except the wheels, but that is fixed by above setup).
: If you set the pedals to joystick 1 Y axis and joystick 2 Y axis, with Mame32:Analog+, you will also get analog pedals.
: Note that Mame32:Analog+ still has that sound control box bug at the moment. You can put Mame32:Analog+ in the same folder as Mame32 and switch between the two if you want.
: Any questions?
: : I'm throwing in the towel because if I keep unscrewing those I-Pac/Opti-Pac connectors at the rate I am, I'll break them sooner or later.
: : I'm looking for advice on how to connect the following:
: : one Oscar spinner
: : one Wico trackball
: : two used Indy Heat steering wheels
: : one used Pole Position pedal
: : one used Atari pedal
: : one used optical joystick
: : I'd like to be able to use both steering wheels simultaneously as player one and player two in games such as Indy Heat, etc, so we can race against each other.
: : I currently only have one serial port on the pc, and I suspect I'll have to add another.
: : I'm using Mame32 for Windows. I just don't see an area in Mame to setup player two for y-axis while player one uses x-axis (probably because you can't set it up that way).
: : The spinner will be used for Tron, Mad Planets, etc and will never contend with other optical devices.
: : Trackball will be used for Crystal Castles, Marble Madness, etc and will not contend with other optical devices.
: : The Optical joystick will be used for Frenzy, and maybe Sinistar and Food Fight if it works well. Again, no contention with other optical devices.
: : Any ideas if or how I can pull this off?
