I agree with him.
I first used paper to plan out where everything goes. Then autocadded it to get exact dimensions:) Then cut it out.

Ther eis a 1/4" gap between all the main controls (like between the buttons and the trackbal, trackball and spinner, ete)

make sure you make it high enough to clear the trackball as that is the biggest thing on the panel.
