You definitely would be happier with an s-video connection. It won't fix your sizing problem, but the picture will be sharper and it will reduce color bleeding, etc...
Also, the cheaper geforce 2 cards (depends on mfr. also) have crappy tv chips. I had one (GeForce 2 Ti) where the image would not fill the screen, no matter what I tried. However, a genuine (beware of imitations) ATI card doesn't have these problems, and it displays on my 25" s-vid TV beautifully. It fills the entire screen, and you can also display on a pc monitor simultaneously w/o 3rd party software.
