Actually, this is not true. If you are running a 600Mhz Celeron, it is a FCPGA. The fastest PPGA is 533Mhz. See below:

You would lose that bet. ;o) The Pentium III chips are much faster than the FCPGA Coppermine Celerons. In some benchmarks by more than 30% for the same clock speed. The Pentium III does run much hotter though. See below:

Also, ECC vs. non-ECC:
Even if you have ECC memory, you can sometimes turn off the ECC feature in your BIOS. Leaving it on can cause a slight performance hit. Maybe 1% - 2%. See below:
