Switching the trackball and spinner inputs on the opti-pac fixed the lag problem like you suggested. I thought for sure the lag would switch to the track ball but it didn't.

as for my second problem with tempest's claw
behaving eratically . I had screwed up some of my settings in mame32.
under default options -advanced -resolution
I had changed my settings to 1024x768 32bit 85hz
this was causing the game to kinda pause and jitter. changed these back to auto and everything works great! Life is good again!

Oscar I want to thank you for making such a
Kick butt control , This thing ROCKS!
This spinner is going to make a very nice addition to my cab.
