Will just placing blade15.exe in my startup folder work?

I have Win98 and I am using an arcade monitor hooked up to a Trident Blade3d card. When booting I need to make sure the correct signal is being sent so if I just place blade15.exe in my startup folder will this do the trick? Or will Vsyncmame do all of this for me when running? Or do I even need Vsyncmame if I use the Blade15.exe file?
