A DOS prompt is just a DOS session in a window (even full screen), Windows is still there robbing CPU cycles. Either F8 out to "command prompt only" on bootup of START|Shutdown|Restart in MS-DOS mode to get pure DOS.

: But I had better performance with the windows version compaired to the dos version in windows with a dos prompt. I think the real dos speedup comes when running in pure dos without windows at all.
