Some people do, like Hanaho's stuff (that's why they're listed here under Alternatives - look to the left). The reason the rest of us build CPs (or whole cabs) is to get the whole look and feel we want.
Same as asking "why buy a model car kit? You can buy the whole replica car!"... sometimes the journey IS the reward, and you end up with something personalized, and customized to what you want.

Instead of hacking keyboards or controllers, would it not be simpler (or maybe even possible) to purchase an arcade top with a USB port and connect it straight to the PC?? I have seen these available and thought that it would be a tad easier. It would be the same as using it on your PC, except its in an arcade cab.
