I have the EYGO 27" and if I could do it again, I would go SVideo myself.
the monitor is HUGE and looks great.
but
EYGO is refurbished for about the same prices as a new TV.
hard to mount. The frame it comes in doesn't fit in most cabinets (or any that I've heard of)
Low refresh. Not a big deal. But I had to setup my system for 60hz even when I'm running on my SVGA next to it otherwise it took a reboot.
SVideos would have let me hack in my SNES, Playstation, and other console systems.
They have had trouble shipping the EYGO monitors from day one. They have been great about helping people who receive bad ones, but for many it ment an extra month shipping delay.
If you've seen the pictures of Spy Hunter on a SVGA monitor and a SVideo TV... the TV looked much better on the color depth (don't know why, but it does). Anyway, the EYGO looks more like a SVGA with very square pixels and scan lines. The TV looks more like the arcade CRT with rounder (really.... they look round... don't know why again) pixels and scanlines.
but everyone has their opinion
