IMO, this is I-PAC's one problem. You can get around it by downloading the I-PAC key utility (IPACUTIL from www.ultimarc.com/ipac3.html) and reassigning the "shift" key to something else. Or assign it to nothing (what I did).
The shift key is a good idea, but to have the default of pressing player1 & player2 start buttons at the same time mapped to [esc] is a time bomb. As you found out.
: I've had the IPAC for over a year now.. great product. A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a little problem. All the buttons work fine. (they are programmed) However we were playing a game in MAME and what happened was we were playing a 2 player game and we both hit our start buttons (1 and 2 player start) at the same time (since we were both dead and wanted to resume) and it quit Mame. In other words, when both of those buttons are hit simultaneosly, it sends and ESC. We confirmed this outside of Mame too as we thought it was Mame doing it. Any suggestions on what could cause this? Start 1 and 2 are programmed to '1' and '2' respectively. Thanks!
