You may find you have to turn off XP's "Personal Firewall" as well. Instructions on this are on the 'net. If often messes with networks.

If you're concerned about a firewall for your XP machine while connected to your ISP, get a REAL firewall, like ZoneAlarm (the nag version is free for personal use).

: You did enable sharing on both pc's(even if winXP says it poses a security risk)?
