So let me get this straight, you want to interface a DC pad with a PC pad (i.e. use the DC pad to play on your PC games). Yes its feasible to hack the DC to a PC pad. Its not very easy as you will have to hack the pad VERY CAREFULLY so your solder points don't interfere with the buttons or stick when you put the DC pad back together.

It sounds like you already have a DC pad...if its a Madcatz dreampad, then you may have a change at pulling it off. Otherwise its not feasiable since you would have to solder directly to the button contacts and probably make the pad unplayable once you put it back together.

The Madcatz pads has the advantage of solder contacts on the back of the PBC (that run through to the button contacts).

Then you'd have to run the wires through a hole in the pad, and build an interface (like a DB9 or something) to cable it to your PC pad (another DB9 conntor on that side and hack your PC had as you wish. If you don't do it this way, you will have this DC pad with wires coming out everywhere connected to your PC pad thats just dangleing there (you get the picture?).

Personally I don't think its worth this much trouble. If you really just want a great console pad to use on your PC, there is a PSX to USB adapter that lets you use your Dual Shock Playstation joystick to PC. (see http://www.soyousa.com/ ). Unfortunally I don't think any such adapter exists for the Dreamcast pad.

: Well, in fact, i need a technical advice here. As i have already a DC arcade stick, i plan to use the already existing base, and use a joypad (for pc)that i will hack. My question is: will it matter if i solder the different buttons of the stick on my joypad basis and keep the Dc basis alive ? In fact i plan to keep the DC part still in place, and somewhat "double" it with the pc pad basis.
: Do you think that it will make any problem if each button is soldered to the DC PCB AND the pc pad PCB ?
: I thought about putting the pc pad PCB in the DC joystick and have a female output on which i would plug the pc cable. Well, maybe i will try anyway, but i would like to get a piece of techincal advice about the "feasability" of that thing.

: Thanks !
