Well, now I've used the Happ Ultimate and Happ Super for the same project. The Ultimate I used was an 8 way and the Super was set to 8 way mode. Mainly I was testing using Street Fighter games (my main application for this). I did experience the "sticking" of the joystick that aramis mentions in his reply. Not just once or twice, but every few minutes this would happen.
I compared this to the Super joystick, which is controlled by switches with the metal levers. This does give the option of tweaking the control for each of the 4 directions if you are so inclined. The overall feel is quite similar. I'd be hard pressed to differentiate if I hadn't installed them myself. But I have not had any of the sticking problems. I'm not sure if you have a specific reason for not wanting a leaf type joystick, but if you don't, you may want to give the Super's a chance. And if you ever need to repurpose them as a 4 way, you can do so without buying anything additional. I just ordered a new one for myself for player2.

: Aaargh, I know this is a FAQ, but last I saw it come up here, no real concensus was reached.
: I'd like to know what people think about the various Happ joysticks (and other brands, for that matter.) I'm mounting in 3/4" MDF with a 0.093" Lexan overlay. I think I'd prefer microswitches to leaves. Any suggestions?
