Hello,
Back to my oroginal question, do you have any answers? here your talking about some madkatz controllar when the dreamaster works perfect.
Would you like me to explain the problem better?
any help here?
i fugure you guys can help me out eh?
thanx,
Wendigo.

: The Madcatz should have small solder points which connect to the non-ground point of the button contacts on the front of the pad. small hole connects all the way through. I've never herd of the clear madcatz one not working. But maybe its a different version? Maybe the Nyko I bought was different also?

: : Ya know I had the worst luck. I bought the Nyko which aren't any good for this. Then, I also remember someone saying that the CLEAR Madcatz ones were no good either, which just so happens to be the other one I'm going to hack. This makes absolutely no since to though because why in the world would they put different boards in just because it's clear? Is this correct? I would think the only difference is that the plastic is clear and have nothing to do with the board inside. Can someone confirm this? What should the Mad Catz board look like?

: : : Yeah that person was me. I bought a cheap Nyko to use in my cab, and when I opened it up, I found the buttons were using some sort of matrixed output (it wasn't all ground based). So I've been suggesting to people to hack the madcatz ones since its all ground based, and easier solder points on the back of the pcb.

: : : Someone (Tom61?) later corrected me in saying the buttons and directionals just used seperate grounds. I thought it was much harder than that, but I didn't keep the Nyko for more than a couple hours before returning it, so I don't remember.

: : : : I thought someone mentioned on this board before that the DreamMaster controllers weren't good for hacking because they used a different type of technology to register button presses. I'd like to know the answer too because I'm hacking two pads and one of them was going to be DreamMaster one. I was going to open it up and take a look at it to see if the person knew what they were talking about. Anyone know about this?

: : : : : Hello there,
: : : : : I've built a 2 player stand up unit for the dreamcast system using 2 dreamaster controllers. here is a good site for alot of the info.
: : : : : http://home.cfl.rr.com/expression/joystick-dc.html

: : : : : The 1st player works PERFECT, but i'm having problems with 2nd player. On the 2nd player the c and z buttons dont work correctly. Instead of just hitting the button once and having it activate, i must doulbe-tap it twice for it to work. The start button also is stuck in slow motion (which the dreammaster controller has). And this last glitch i cant even comprahend. I use this arcade stick for the game MVC2 and when i pick my characters on the character screan, everything looks good. But than when I start play, the 2nd and 3rd player are switched.
: : : : : Another thing that i dont uderstand is the grounds on the 2nd player. After i wired everthing to the correct place on the dreammaster PCB board, i plugged it in and tested it. I did this by connecting the correct grounds with the corrosponding button or direction with activated it. (go to the website and it can explain it alot easier with the wiring config diagram). The C and Z buttons are suppose to be connected to Ground2. So when i touched G2 with c or z, it shoulf have activated it. But it did not. Than i tried to test it with G1, i touched G1 with c and z, and it worked. The only theory that i can come up with is that the controllar i baught is glitched. Having the grounds to go the wronge buttons, just dont make sense. And with all those other problems, i figure the controllar is just a piece of shit. Can anybody help me?

: : : : : I do think that these problems can be fixed. And i think that your the best people able to help me. So please, I REALLY need your help. Ask your friends about these problems and see if they understand em'.

: : : : : thanks,
: : : : : Wendigo

: : : : : PS: i'll be getting a pic soon, so you can see my awesome arcade controllar!
