About a year ago I would probably look at you funny if you suggested putting win on a dedicated cab. Today however, I look at the dos users funny.
;)
There's all kinds of good windows fe's currently in development. (Ok guys you know the drill, time for my cheap plug.)
My front-end, the Raging Dragon, might be worth a look, since it takes advantage of the newer, windows only, emulators. There's also ArcadeFx, emulaxian, A-player, and numerous other fe's out there. Plus you have all of the old dos stand-bys if you want to go that way. There aren't any new dos fe's, so i would say that they are slowing fading away. (Except for those with arcade monitors of course.)
My only advice would be to stay away from 2000/xp if your machine's rather old and if you like some of the more exotic dos emus, since dos support is a little flakey.
I hope that's enough
: Hey guys!
: It's been a while since I've posted here and I kind of took my arcade apart and moved it... I haven't update it in a LONG time and was thinking about upgrading front ends.
: I currently use arcadeOS and it works alright... I still have problems getting games like nba jam to play full screen... (even with advance mame) .. i have a wg 27" vga montior... anyway enough of that.
: I was thinking of switching over to windows from dos... but again i'm not sure how well that would work... anyone here recommend moving over to windows from dos emulation? I was thinking it would be cool if i could set the whole network thing up to play online, etc. but that's another issue :)
: any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!
: also.. i have a few arcade pushbuttons that seem to be sticking.. is there a way to fix this or do i just need to buy new ones?
