Why I don't do it

The reason Rd dosen't support rotation is simply due to lsoem limitations in visual basic. I use label controls in vb alot since they're quick and easy to work with. Unfortunately they only have a horizontal orientation. I could rotate evry single thing in Rd except the stuff that counts, mainly the labels and the gamelist. There are ways to do it, but it would require all of my development time to get it working, so it's extremely low priority.

Also there is software for windows available that rotates the screen for you. I believe there's a really good one called portrait or somethign liek that. This type of software is more scare in Dos, so it of course, was included in aos and the other old-school front-ends.

: I'd quite like a front end that rotates for selecting vertical games. ArcadeOS was fine for DOS Mame, but I want to use the new builds of Mame for windows (0.57 currently installed) and ArcadeOS doesn't switch back to the front end properly after exiting from a game - no good for a keyboard-less cabinet.

: Most of the (pretty cool looking)front ends that are around or in development don't rotate in the way ArcadeOS can. I know this may be a problem with Windows, however MAME manages it so surely it can be done?

: I don't have the room (in the UK) for two cabs (and can't afford a divorce). I don't want to be forced into only playing in one orientation as I went through a lot of trouble to make the screen rotatable.

: Thanks
