Lest anyone think I'm ignoring them... :)
I'm out in training right now - when I return however I will seriously look at getting new software. I've been toying with cleaning up the current software running a second version of the board in parallel (look at http://www.arcadecontrols.com/wwwboard/wwwboard.html to see, it is smaller but still kind of big at 2 weeks) to cut down the bandwidth, and I suspect that's where I messed up the reply threading. However, based on my time and present coding skill level, I *think* I am prepared to throw in the towel and actively look for a better solution. I may pay someone to put one in place for us so long as I can continue to host it on one of the servers I use, unless a competent volunteer shows up :)
SO: No time line, but a definite promise that I'm finally going to move things along. I may have to find some kludge for archiving, perhaps starting a new version of the board once a month or so leaving older versions for posterity, or something similar. I am worried if I leave too many messages in a mysql or similar based message system it will eventually get too big and crash. Not a problem with text files. Any skilled programmers out there care to venture an opinion? Probably any new software will be php/mysql based, maybe python, etc....
