I'm not sure what bluepoint's probs were, but I believe some of them were specific to him.... 380 errors not included of course, those were my fault....

Since there has been some probs installing the new beta I installed it to a couple of machines at work today, all of which run 98 se....
All you do is install beta 3C, not beta 3a not beta 3b..... those are flawed... only 3c is working perfect...
Run the runme bat in the dlls dir....
Your ready to go... repeated tab presses or presses of 5 are not required... you will however have to go into the config menu and set up your directories of course....
I tried this on different machines with different hardware setups and it worked flawlessly on all of then without a hitch...
One thing though.. the bug about crashing when no roms are found is possbile so I'll take it as truth, nto a big deal though since if there aren't any roms the Fe is pretty useless anyway..
As for the skinner install... the installer is flawed....
It will work however....
When runing the setup ignore any errors about files already being in use...
if it asks you to overwrite files select NO in that you do not wish to overwrite....
You should be ok then...

: So I got it to runn... For anyone else with the problem, here's how I did it:
: Install according to instuctions.
: When it first starts up hit tab repeatedly until you can get into the config screen. (takes a few tries)
: Set all your directories, ect... Then hit save. The program will try to scan roms, it'll fail to find them, and then it'll crash with a 380 error. That's okay...
: Now run the program again and as it starts up hit 5 repeatedly until you can get it to start scanning for roms. (as with before it takes a few tries) when it's done it'll crash again.
: But the next time you run it it will work! Ta-da!
: The front end looks great... Only now, for some reason, I can't get the skinner aplication to install... I'll keep trying...
