Hmmm on paper I agree with you, but I would feel a little more comfortable having seen someone who's done it. My assumption is most people with cabinets in this size range have just bitten the bullet and disassembled their TV's, or used smaller TV's/monitors.
But I'm almost willing to give it a shot... Just need to snatch up one of the 24.5" TV's soon.
: I think you might be all right, as you wouldn't have to route out too terribly much. Only the very front of the TV shell would need the extra width, and that wouldn't necessarily be too structural.
: Hoever, if it did get a little flimsy, you could brush a few layers of epoxy (and even some fiberglass cloth if you wanted to get real crazy).
