... be in the way for the right player when using the rotary stick, or when using the spinner?

The second probably is a little more important to worry about, depending on how the spinner & trackball are connected. Under most setups, if you accedently nudge the trackball while using the spinner, the trackball data would also be sent to the game.

Otherwise, they're just a matter of if the arm/elbow would be resting on the trackball. Nothing bad, but might be unconfortable.

For a "clean" look, are you going to have "plugs" to cover the removed competition joystick holes when the rotary sticks are used? Just a simple 1 1/8" plastic cover would be nice.

Nice layout other-wise. I bet it's going to be big!

: Could you guys critique my initial cp layout? I put it together in ICPD.

: To explain:

: The main lower joysticks are Happ competitions. The upper joysticks are ikari rotary joysticks. I'll make the competitions removable like was done with the MameGTX cab. I'm also going to make trigger sticks as described on the MameGTX site that will swap with the competition handles. I would like to get a translucent blue Imperial trackball, but we'll see what the budget (wife) will allow. Above the trackball are two mouse buttons on the right, and a harddrive spinner that I will make on the left. I believe that the spinner design described on Doug Hansen's site takes up only a 2" diameter area under the cp. Above those are a coin button in the middle, and the player start buttons on each side. I haven't thought about the admin buttons, though I may try to hide them. There will also be a couple of pinball buttons on each side.

: I'd love to hear any feedback or recommendations that you might have. What do you think of the button layout and overall spacing? Is there anything I'm forgetting?

: Thanks,
: EA
