Your correct about MAME. Galaga is listed as using an 8-way joystick!

There was another site that I know listed the monitor orientation of various classic games in an orderly fashion, but I lost all my links when my Arcade Games folder vanished off my desktop. I guess I'll have to post the question at RGVAC.
