Has anyone used the "video brightener" from Happs?

I noticed that Happs has a "video brightener" listed on it's website and I was wondering if anyone has used this? I am making the assumption that by the name and brief description it would act as the video amp that I am going to make from PC2Jamma's site. Doug Hansen has been nice enough to volunteer the parts he bought for this project as long as I will make him one as well. Just thought that if this "video brightener" worked it might be a better bet.
