Hmmm....maybe I stand corrected. I know the Geforce 2 Ti I tried would always have at least a 1" black border all the way around, no matter what I tried. The third party software didn't fix it either. And, it seemed really hacky the way that TV out was implemented in the nVidia drivers compared to ATI's drivers. So, I assumed that all the nVidia cards would have the same problems (due to the crappy software implementation). Also, I did a fair bit of reading on the ol' net, and a LOT of people could not truly get full-screeen TV display with several of the newer cards, regardless of brand name.

Anyways, it appears that I assumed too much...thanks for settin' me straight!

: This is not true with my nvidia card... It really doesn't have much to do with whether the card has a nvidia chip or not, but rather what TV-out chipset your card uses and how well the card manufacturer (not chipset such as nvidia) implements the TV-out in their drivers. For example, my specific nvidia card uses the BrookTree 869 TV-out chip and it looks fantastic. I've tried it side-by-side with an ATI (proprietary TV-out chipset) and the ATI was in no way superior. About dead even, in fact. I would just shy away from ATI because as you said it sucks for PC gaming and they are notorious for buggy drivers and lousy support.

: Long story short: Base your decision on TV out chips and card manufacturer, not video chipset.
