When I picked up my cabinet, it had worn black vinyl on it. It was kinda like contact paper, however it was very durable. You can purchase this vinyl at Happ Controls. I priced it out at about $60.00 to do my cabinet. I did not want to pay the $60.00 for the facelift so I opted to paint the cabinet with black fleck spray paint. The fleck paint gave the cabinet some texture, like the vinyl sticker. I then spray painted over the fleck paint with black paint. I finished the face-lift for $30.00 and it looks great. If you are going to paint your cabinet and do not want that wrinkly finish that you get when you paint over fiber board, than this is the way to go. On a side note, it you want to leave it fleck, you have the option of about six different color combinations.
Good Luck
