Arcade cabinets are probably made from melamine coated MDF. This is the same material commonly used for inexpensive kitchen cabinets. I found this on HomeDepot.com:
Melamine
Melamine is a resin-impregnated paper, which is thermally fused to either MDF or a particleboard core like a veneer. MDF is a strong panel material; melamine adds a finished appearance to the core material.
