: this may seem a dumb question but...
: New to the emulation scene I am fascinated by the possibities and excitment of eventually building my own arcade box. I have read a bit about some of the interface methods and have a general question...I want to build a two joystick interface each with 6 buttons (Streetfighter arrangment). In the real arcade game itself, some of the moves require several buttons pressed at the same time (like Zangeif's 3 button spin) The real arcade board hardware, I suspect, can detect these simultanious presses quite easily, but with a PC keyboard, if I press three buttons at the same time, the keys will be transmitted sequentially to mame.
: 1. Does this cause a problem with mame understanding simulanious presses? or is the time between data short enough that it doesnt matter. I noticed I cant consistantly do Zangeif's three button spin in mame on the keyboard. It works about 50% of the time no matter how carefully I try to push the three buttons at the same time. (or is it just ghosting)
: 2 what would you suggest the best interface type to build is for this arangment?
: thank you,
