After I wrote that message I did a little more research into the ghosting affect and now I'm thinking of mulitplexing, having 20mhz will make that much easier.

As for the slave keyboard it will have a typeamatic rate set, but it will be set from the PIC, it really isn't a feed through port as it is a relay, it will buffer the input and send it when the PIC is free. the buttons will have higher priority for transmision. Getting the leds to work on the slave keyboard realy doesn't matter to me, I could implement it but I think I'll just take all incomming data for leds to go to the relays.

I'll look into this buttonbox2 thing, I've never heard of it.
