: Does anyone know which of examples projects aregamepad hacks only. I'm looking at making an arcade joystick based on just a gamepad hack and would like to read all the examples at this very cool site.

I also have used controller hacks, it's real easy, you just need SOME soldering skills and that's it.

ALSO you have to decide on what type o joystick, Ie: if you wish to run MAME only in DOS, don't use USB, etc.

The MS Sidewinder Pro USB pads are quite hard to solder to, they dont have the pre-made holes like the gameport sidewinders, they have these "test point" solder spots, thats as big as a pin head.

There is a post on board that I did asking a similar question. A guy listed a URL (can't remember which post) that showed CLOSE UP pics of a MS SW USB wired up, and then I sat through and worked out which test points linked to what button, etc. The pics helped me a REAL LOT.

Also, I know that a particular Saitek gamepad has huge connection points on their PCBS, and it's real easy to solder to them. I think it's the X3something-64, looks like a playstation pad.

Hope this helps
