I will get a chance to examine this SUN monitor sometime this week and will try to get an exact model number and post it here. Hopefully this may help determine it's capabilities (or lack thereof).

Lets assume this monitor is fixed frequency, how will this limit my games in MAME? ie. are there many (any?) games that will not be able to run on this monitor? (referring to MAME exclusively)

Does anyone think I'm barking up the wrong tree here? should I give up on this idea and just go with the TV option, or is this something that will be worth pursuing?
