For starters none of the game copyright holders would allow it. It really isn't professional ready-for-primetime quality either. It supports too many versions of the same game including dumb hacks and illegal bootlegs which are redundant and only bloat the code. Also it definitely isn't the most stable of emulators, many games are buggy and don't even have sound. Additionally Mame is in need of some MAJOR optimization, both for speed and size. Many of the older emulators which supported relatively few games were better since they were coded by one person who generally concentrated on making a really good emulator but Mame is the Borg of emulators so the little guys were crushed. Mame is worth about as much as a buggy micro$oft product.
