DOT is an 8-way. www.klov.com says this and the game plays this way. MAME lists it as Trackball, but . . .

The picture shows four leaf switches but almost any joystick only contains four switches. I see nothing in the picture to keep the actuator from contacting the left and up switches simultaneously, so . . .

8-way, AFAICT. . .
