So just like http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1076341644?

Now I understand why nobody understood you (including myself). Those don't block any directions like a restrictor panel does. Those pieces of metal let you feel the diagonals.

: : What restrictor? Here is an auction with one: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1077784104

: Well, what you have to do is gain possession of a Nintendo Vs. control panel, so you can look at the Nintendo Vs. joystick assembly that is attached to the control panel.

: Make sure you turn the control panel over, so you can see the joystick assembly components. You'll know that you are looking at the underside of the control panel because there will be a lot of wires in plain view.(The joysticks handles are located on the topside).

: Now, there are these things called microswitches. There are four of them for each joystick, and they are located around the base of the joysticks. Located right in the center of them, and around the bottom part(shaft) of the joystick is a a flat piece of metal with four screws holding it in place.

: ***That is the 8-way restrictor.
