I didn't know there was a switch!
Only it is -quit instead of -nogui.

From Readme32.txt (which used to come with the old MAME32 versions):

-quit Quit after running the first game. Useful when specifying a game on the command line.

Now I'm going to test the frontend! :)

: Certain flavors of mame32 require you to put the -nogui switch in the command line. If emuwizard can do this than your all set!

: : It runs the game you specify on the command-line, but it doesn't exit the GUI after hitting ESC :(
: : I'll look a little bit more into this and post again if I get it working properly.
