: : I have been searching the web for about 2 weeks now, looking at different ways to build a MAME cabinet. I have been trying to figure out where all the bits of wire are supposed to go, trying to contemplate whether or not I have the skills to attempt this.

: : I may be stupid, or even naive, but a thought crossed my mind. Instead of hacking keyboards or controllers, would it not be simpler (or maybe even possible) to purchase an arcade top with a USB port and connect it straight to the PC?? I have seen these available and thought that it would be a tad easier. It would be the same as using it on your PC, except its in an arcade cab.

: : However, I am new to this concept and hence the idea has probably been around for a number of years - is this possible . . . have any of you tried this . . . or am I just a moron?

: : Cheers

: : Shnilly
