Mine works very nicely, I have a SlikStik, And centipede is one of my favorite top 5 games, all I had to do was in controller in Mame is set it to use a mouse and then in the game itself is set the analog controls to what ever setting you like, on mine I have it set to like 150% on the joy control, and senitivity I have to like 125%.

But you should play with those numbers and get it where you like it.
