: Make sure you look at your board. The 600mhz celeron can go into a ppga slot or an fcpga slot. If you have a ppga slot you can't stick a 1.0 ghz celeron in it you will fry it. If you have a fcpga slot I'd go with the 1.1ghz celeron, the 1.2 is a different chip so you can't use it. I have a 1.1ghz on a slot one to fcpga adapter and no games bog in mame on it at least that i've found so far i can play nba jam and hangtime on it without a problem. This chip is down to like $71 on pricewatch. only $5 more than the 1.0ghz celeron. And $40 dollars cheaper than the 1.0ghz P3. And I bet if you bench mark a celern 1.1ghz Vs a P3 1.0Ghz the celeron would win.
