with good video card, you will/may get better results in windows. Especially if you do any stretching of video resolutions (since many video cards can do all that in hardware).
But I had better performance with the windows version compaired to the dos version in windows with a dos prompt. I think the real dos speedup comes when running in pure dos without windows at all.
