: So you like convincing people they are right that arcade games aren't worth it?

No, but when 50+ people have been able to work through their problems to come up with a workable solution based on what's available, and, oh, yes... FREE to them, and one person can't find some turnkey system that's as easy as his Nintendo 64, perhaps building a MAME cab isn't for him.

I take offense to someone who bitches about all the work that the MAME, ArcadeOS, Raging Dragon, (insert your front end here) teams have done.

: A negative response to someone how already has a point of view that he is going to quit the arcade gaming is only going to push him more to quit. Apparently you want it all to yourself?

It's better than he should complain and take the wind out of the sails of the people DRIVING this hobby? I'll stand behind the work of guys like Nicola Salmoria and encourage them to keep up the good work instead of complaining. How much time would YOU want to put into a completely FREE project if you weren't getting positive feedback?

Someone has to physically FIND the ICs, dump the ROMs, write and test drivers for each game set, test them to work with any number of hardware/software combinations and release them. And at the end of all of that, take flak from someone who doesn't understand the work that goes into it? I'd pack up, flip a finger to the scene and walk away myself.

: How many arcade PCBs do you own?
: Don't say you own a snes with battle toads and downloaded the battle toads arcade, those were completely different. So another form doesn;t cut it.

Ever heard me complain that I want it all, perfectly, right now? I'm not greedy.

Bren..
