Simple... run all your ground wires from all your 8 way buttons and stick switches to one side of a toggle switch, and all your 4 way grounds to the other side... you flick the switch one way, and the buttons/switches act as normal (but the other set do not work at all, since the "open" side of the switch THEY are on prevents a circuit)

: is there a website off the top of your head that have done this and done the ground thing. if not i will research this type of setup myself.

: : have the 4way and player 1 8way connected to the same buttons. Then with a switch cut the ground to the 4way and buttons (or 8way and buttons) so that they aren't both active at once. (if you don't do this, then playing street fighter with friends, they will start grabbing the 4 way when you are about to do a special move).
