Although I don't know the games you want to play, I was amazed by the control scheme in Atari's "War: Final Assault" FPS: it has buttons for the left hand and a joystick (+trigger +thumb button) for the right. But contrary to common sense, the buttons on the left hand are used to move the character around (Forward, Back, Left, Right, Jump, Change View) and the joystick is used to move the crosshair around the screen (I think if the crosshair reaches the right or left edge your character rotates). The trigger is for shooting and the thumb button I think is for switching weapons. This seemingly strange arrangement makes the game extremely intuitive. As far as I can tell, this is the only game with such control scheme.

: I am currently stuck in my electronics building part of the cabinet while I wait on a few parts so I am going to finish up my control boxes. I really want to run a few PC games which are 1st person shooters...Kingpin, Ghost Recon, etc. So I guess my question is what would make up an "ideal" 1st peson shooter setup? Has anyone done this who would like to offer me a little insight?

: Michael
