This is a known bug. by the time the author knows what is causing it, it will probably be fixed. So its only a guess.
It's probably a processor giving to much or not enought time to one op code. Or a sleep not working properly. But whatever it is, it makes the game very very hard to beat without cheats/patterns after the 2nd or 3rd lvl.
